This is a reminder & advice regarding memorising the Noble words of
our Lord.
To make your dream come true in memorising the Quran:
يقول الله تعالى:
(اللذين آتيناهم الكتاب يتلونه حق تلاوته” البقرة (121″
Allah says:
“Those to whom we gave the book read it as it should be read…”
ويقول أيضا:
(ورتل القرآن ترتيلا” (المزمل 4″
Allah also says:
“…And recite the Qur’an in a slow, measured recitation”
عن عثمان بن عفان (رضى الله عنه) عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال:
(خيركم من تعلم القرآن وعلمه)
Uthman Bin Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: the messenger of Allah said:
(the best amongst you is the one who learns the Qur’an and teaches it)
عن عائشة (رضى الله عنها) عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال:
(الماهر بالقرآن مع السفرة الكرام البررة والذى يقرأ القرآن ويتتعتع فيه فله أجران)
Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) reported: the messenger of Allah said:
(the one who is proficient in the recitation of the Qur’an will be with the honourable and obedient scribes (angels) and he who recites the Qur’an and finds it difficult to precise, doing his best to recite it in the best way possible, will have a double reward)
If we only turned to the Quran and Sunnah in all aspects of our life we would live happy and peaceful during our journey in this short world.
But how about your position in Jannah? Your eternal home, have you not through of ways how you can elevate your position there?
Memorising the Quran and combining it with action will take you to a better position in Jannah. As you know in the Hadeeth Sahih the person who memorised the Quran in this world and (acted upon it) will be asked to recite from memory, as he recites from memory he keeps raising in Jannah!! to a better place and he/she stops at the place they stopped in their memorization. This is the great benefit and purpose of memorising the Quran. Memorising the Quran is your elevator in Jannah! So why not get on the elevator in this world to raise you in the next whilst the door is open for you?
Truly if we are not patient in getting closer to Allah and worshiping Him and learning His religion we will have to be patient in being ignorant and sinning. Like one of the Salaf said: “The soul is a disobeyer and sinner if you do not busy it with obedience(to Allah) it will busy you with sin!”
This Quran is the last revelation we have and our path to Jannah our salvation. We should take all the necessary means to learn, understand and apply it in our daily lives and spread its teachings.
If you’re unable to memorise the Quran, strive to at least correct your recitation upon a teacher so you do not recite the words of Allah wrong and try to memorise and understand the verses which are used often by the reputable Scholars of Islam as evidence related to the sciences of Islam, and most importantly the verses that are about Tawheed and Shirk and the importance of the Sunnah and verses related to the Manhaj.
